Emma Gordon-Stables

Emma Gordon-Stables is a fully qualified professional health therapist.  Her range of treatments is wide and diverse and includes Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Aromatherapy for the Face and Body, Aromatic Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Therapeutic Massage.  Nutritional counselling and advice relating to dietary supplements is incorporated within treatments where appropriate.  Emma is a full member of the British Acupuncture Council, the governing body of the acupuncture profession in the UK.

Aims

Emma’s aim is to provide a multi-disciplined range of tailor-made, high quality, first class treatments at an unparalleled level of expertise, to both men and women.

Experience

Emma has over 15 years experience working in the complementary health industry and actively seeks to promote the concept of health from within by utilising the complementary therapies in which she specializes.

Emma was formerly employed as a therapist at 'The Sanctuary' – the ultimate health and beauty spa for women situated in the heart of London’s fashionable Covent Garden.

As a former Senior Flight Stewardess for an international airline, she has personal experience of the effects of stress, jetlag and fatigue.

Training

Emma is constantly refining and updating both her practical skills and theoretical knowledge through Continuing Professional Development.  Having completed a thorough three year training in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western Medical Sciences at the University of Westminster, she recently participated successfully in the International TCM training program of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at the Chengdu University teaching hospital in Southwest China.  Under this program, Emma completed a total of 170 hours of post-graduate clinical training and lectures under the supervision of licensed TCM doctors.  In her work, Emma uses oriental diagnosis to pinpoint energetic imbalances, which allows her to select the most appropriate therapy to treat a wide range of ailments, together with minor conditions where no clearly defined disease exists.  In this way, Emma is able to offer a dynamic blend of Eastern and Western therapeutic approaches.

The Benefits

Emma’s training has provided her with a thorough practical foundation and a direct, intuitive means of understanding the body, mind and spirit, together with the effect that complementary therapies have on them.  Many of the therapies in which Emma specializes, are preventative rather than curative and, over a period of time, a substantial improvement can be experienced in a person’s overall sense of well-being on a physical, mental and emotional level.

Philosophy

Emma’s primary motivation comes from her desire to help others by assessing and attending to their health needs.  She is highly skilled in relating to people with genuine compassion, tolerance and empathy.

As a holistic therapist, Emma adopts the Chinese philosophy of treating the body as a whole using a range of complementary therapies, which when used regularly, can reduce the adverse effects of stress.  All these natural therapies are hand delivered by a dedicated and disciplined therapist in an ambience of peace and restoration.
